Business Track Programme (draft)

Goal: To communicate and discuss the involvement of corporations in MOOCs in Europe

This includes:

  • corporate MOOC content and platform providers
  • corporations using or interested by MOOCs for their internal learning & development needs
  • corporations using or interested by MOOCs for external learning & communication needs
  • NGOs and non-for-profit organizations having ‘corporate-like’ needs

Venues: 5 sessions, of 90 mins each, which may include:

  • Presentations with local/remote speakers on aspirations, needs, solutions, experience
  • Discussion panels with Q&A funnel process
  • Exhibition of MOOCs and MOOC solutions by corporations and organizations
  • Breakout sessions on particular points (EU initiatives and projects, MOOC infrastructure for corporations, university/corporate partnerships for MOOCs, etc.)
  • Networking session

  • Session B5: SWOT & Evolution of MOOCs  (Breakout sessions)
  • Posters and demos (Exhibition during the conference)

Session B1: Business models of MOOCs, revenues today and to-morrow

  • Panel discussion with Coursera, EdX, Udacity, Google, Iversity, Brand Academy, IMC, Future Learn, other tbd (max: 5)
  • 1 slide to display during the panel for a recap on several possible business models
  • List of questions to prepare:Who are the customers? What do they want? How to address these markets with different products & services? What are the current revenues of this business?How can this business evolve?
  • Moderation by xxx (business school)

Session B2: Commercial and Open Source solutions for MOOCs (afternoon session)

  • Presentations with hangouts from Coursera, EdX, Udacity, Google, other tbd (max: 5)
  • 5 slides to display/share per participant
  • List of questions to prepare:
  • What is the platform? Is the platform commercial or open source? What are the key features of  the platform (installation, use, features)? How is the platform being adopted? How is the platform evolving, now or in the future?What new services are emerging?

Session B3: MOOCs for online internal corporate training

  • Panel discussion with university, public institution, NGO, large corporation, SME, other tbd (max: 5)
  • 1 slide to display during the panel for a recap on several possible uses
  • List of questions to prepare: What are the internal corporate training & development needs (with numbers)? How to address these needs with different products & services? What have been the initial experiences?
  • Moderation by Voker Zimmerman

Session B4: MOOCs for online external corporate training & communication

  • Panel discussion with university, public institution, NGO, large corporation, SME, other tbd (max: 8)
  • 1 slide to display during the panel for a recap on several possible uses
  • List of questions to prepare: What are the external corporate training & communication needs (with numbers)? How to address these needs with different products & services? What have been the nitial experiences with customers, users, channel?
